Room Details
The rooms at Traditional Stay give a contemporary feel although set in a traditional setting. There are 16 rooms, 5 with King size beds, 3 Queen and 8 Twin Beds. Each room has a private bathroom, and has solar powered LED lights. The bed linen is actually a Newar fabric called Lawa, traditionally used to make bhwantang la:, a type of dress for the young Newar girls. Both the bed linen and sheets are handcrafted by a single mother. The floor of the rooms are adorned with sukul, and the ceilings with daleen, giving the feel of a traditional house while the wooden shutter windows give a neo-newar feel.
